“Science fiction”, our technology, and the effects

July 6, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Today I was reading Cracked online and I came across this insightful post.

It started me thinking and wondering.. could that first lesson ever possibly become true?

And what would that mean for humans? What does the amount of questions I’m asking mean?

Tonight I watched the 1988 version of The Blob with that guy from Entourage. It wasn’t all that insightful.. mindless sci-fi entertainment. However, before that, I watched Live Free or Die Hard (again) and wondered if the concept of a “firesale” perpetrated in that movie would be possible by some hacker someday.

WILL our technology eventually destroy us/fail us?
