There may be hope for the USA yet

Just read a VERY hopeful article on CNN.

They claim that in a recent survey, a (slim) MAJORITY of Americans believe that religion should stay out of politics. Religion works well for some people, but as the great Doug Benson tactfully asserts, it is something to be kept IN YOUR OWN HEAD.

A lot of people (religious ones) might possibly disagree with these sentiments, but the simple fact is that so many past conflicts, wars, and other human tragedies have been caused by religious disagreements (holy wars, crusades, etc).

So I find those to be extremely interesting survey results. Some would say politics is godless enough already – that it doesn’t work. And it may not. But regardless of its effectiveness, God should be kept out of it.

We really just need an administration that will pull us out of this recession (even just slightly), help to improve the ways we live for the sake of Earth (and our survival), and someone who won’t look like a freaking IDIOT to other countries and cultures.

The white scourge

Because so far, that’s all a lot of these guys have managed to do – look foolish.

And ANYONE can do that.
